Major Nordic Films Coming to Disney+
Starting in 2026, you will be able to watch your favorite cinema releases on Disney+. A new agreement makes Disney+ the exclusive streaming platform for Nordisk Film’s theatrical releases from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
Thanks to this new content deal, Disney+ viewers will gain exclusive access to the best local films from the Nordic region. The agreement covers approximately 90 feature films from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland over the duration of the partnership.
Among the first titles arriving on the platform in fall 2026 is the Danish comedy Klassenfesten 4, starring beloved actors Anders W. Berthelsen, Nikolaj Kopernikus, and Troels Lyby. Viewers can also look forward to Grannfejden, a Swedish comedy by director Ulf Malmros, and the Norwegian drama Drapet på Benjamin Hermansen, directed by Ingvild Søderlind.
Egmont and Nordisk Film have a long-standing and close collaboration with The Walt Disney Company across multiple areas. For 75 years, Story House Egmont and Disney have partnered on publishing, including the iconic Donald Duck & Co. magazine. This new agreement further strengthens the relationship between the two companies.
“Nordisk Film is the leading distributor of local films in the Nordics and has consistently held the top spot when it comes to cinema ticket sales for local productions. Local films are at the heart of our business, and we work with the most talented producers and creative voices in the region. Our mission is to bring the best Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish films to as wide an audience as possible across the Nordics. That is why we are so excited about this multi-year agreement with Disney+ and their strong commitment to our upcoming local film slate,” says Kenneth Wiberg, SVP at Nordisk Film and CEO of Nordisk Film Distribution.
