Nordisk Film is built on a long and proud tradition within film production and has always had huge ambitions on behalf of film. For some time, Nordisk Film Production has seriously turned its attention to the production of series.
Nordisk Film Series is a department under Nordisk Film Production, that started back in 2020, and since then has been passionately working to write and produce exciting series dramas. The ambition of Nordisk Film Series is to make room for new writing talents and attract the biggest Nordic voices, so originality and quality continue to be a recurring characteristic in their productions.
Amongst other things, Nordisk Film Series has produced the crime drama Off the Record (Graverne). In the series, we follow the idealistic journalist Liv (played by Mille Dinesen) and her editorial team of ambitious investigative journalists who work to expose injustices and corruption on the TV-show Brændpunkt. In the first season, they come across a sensational case that leads them to the centre of power in Danish politics and inevitably presents the editorial team with both personal and ethical dilemmas.
The production of Off the Record was also a pilot project in greener film and TV productions, and the series is one of the first in Denmark to be Green Film certified, moreover with the highest score for a Danish fiction series.
For over 100 years, the film company in Valby has contributed to the Danish and Nordic film treasury and reaped international recognition with several Oscar nominations.
