Saga Egmont revives the radio-gold from Radio24syv
Around 450 programs and between 8,000-10,000 episodes from Radio24syv will be available again from Saga Egmont, the largest digital publisher in the Nordics, starting March 2025.
The radio archive from the former radio station, Radio24syv, will soon come back to life, thanks to Saga Egmont, which is taking over the archive from Berlingske Media. Saga Egmont, which is part of Lindhardt and Ringhof and is the Nordics' largest digital publisher, does not hide the excitement when it comes to the value of the extensive archive.
Saga Egmont plans to publish the first 1,000 podcast episodes throughout 2025. The recently acquired archive includes approximately 450 programs and between 8,000-10,000 episodes from the former FM and DAB channel. Fans and listeners can anticipate the re-release of popular programs like RomerRiget with Knud Romer, Genialos with Holger Bech-Nielsen and Sidney Lee, and Fedeabes fyraften with Anders Lund Madsen.
The first re-releases will be made available on eReolen, Mofibo, Podimo, Saxo Premium, Nextory, Bookmate, and others.
Jeppe Branner, the publishing head of Saga Egmont's Danish division, sees podcasts as a natural extension of the publisher's audiobook and e-book business and anticipates that the formats will interact in the future streaming landscape.
Over the past ten years, the publisher has digitized a treasury of Danish and foreign books. In total, Saga Egmont has published over 140,000 e-books, audiobooks, and podcasts in more than 15 languages.
