"What we can't deliver on quantity, we have to deliver on quality"
In a media reality where digital stories are available here and now, and the video stream on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram never stops, our magazines meet new demands to show their justification and reach readers with meaningful and well-written stories.
Story House Egmont's iconic Danish monthly magazines Euroman and Gastro must be relevant much more often than before. Therefore, good content is published daily on the website, on social media and as a video, podcast or via newsletters - in addition to the traditional printed magazine, of course.
"In the magazines Euroman and Gastro the reader can dive into content selected by Denmark's best magazine editors and be enlightened and entertained. I like to use the term that you get a break from a world that goes by very fast. At the same time, we are aware that we need to develop digitally. We do that with web, SoMe and podcasts. And then we do a lot of physical events where we get out of the office and meet our readers and listeners," says Kristoffer Dany Ernst, editor-in-chief of Euroman and Gastro.
A new initiative is the collaboration with author and food critic Martin Kongstad, who is behind the acclaimed podcast about food, 'Bearnaise er dyrenes konge’. Since Radio24syv closed, the podcast has been homeless, but now the podcast is being relaunched in collaboration with Euroman and Gastro.
"Readers want quality content that goes in-depth and that dares to geek out about the niches. We do this both at Euroman and at Gastro. We write with enthusiasm and spend time on the details that make us stand out from the average. We can never compete with the amount of content on the web, so what we cannot deliver on quantity, we must deliver on quality," Kristoffer Dahy Ernst elaborates.
The readers reward the efforts of the editorial staff, as readership for both Euroman and Gastro is increasing.
