At Egmont, we strive to base our work and support on knowledge. We do this, among other things, through our new regular publication, Egmont Insight, where we continuously produce and share knowledge and insights about children and young people at risk - preferably in dialogue and collaboration with other partners. We incorporate research, listen to experts - both children and adults - and initiate research ourselves when there is a lack of knowledge about challenges and solutions for children and young people at risk.

Egmont Insight

Children in poverty

In the articles below, you can read about the new studies conducted by Rambøll and SUS - Social Development Centre in collaboration with Danish People's Aid (Dansk Folkehjælp) for Egmont Insight: Children in Poverty.

Egmont Insight aims to put children and young people at risk on the agenda

What does it mean for children and young people to grow up in poverty? What is school like for children living under challenging circumstances? And what types of support do the children and young people themselves demand?

With our regular publication, Egmont Insight, the Egmont Foundation aims to shed light on several challenges experienced by children and young people in difficult living conditions and contribute to discussions on how we, as a society, can solve them.

Egmont Insight replaces the Egmont Report

Egmont Insight replaces the annual Egmont Report, which Egmont has published once a year for the past ten years, focusing on a specific topic relating to children and young people at risk. In the new format, Egmont Insight will maintain the same high-quality analysis while streamlining and modernizing the format to make it more accessible and user-friendly. At the same time, the frequency of publications will increase, allowing Egmont to contribute more frequently with new knowledge and insights within the areas that the foundation works, often in collaboration with others. In this way, Egmont Insight will contribute to the foundation's ongoing efforts to create positive changes for children and young people at risk.

Other studies

Through studies, children's voices, and best practice examples, we have contributed for several years with investigations that delve into the challenges experienced by children and young people at risk – and offered solutions.

Some children and young people struggle so much with mathematics that it hinders their life opportunities. That was the finding in the Egmont Report 2023, which focused on math difficulties.

In the summer survey of 2023, we focus on the summer vacation of financially strained families with children. The survey indicates that for children in financially strained families, summer is a time without activities and a longing for experiences with family and friends that they cannot afford.
