Nordic Film Launches Streaming Service with the Largest Selection of Danish Movies

The new streaming service Nordic Film+ aims to bring the movie-watching experience into homes with the largest selection of Danish films and one of the lowest prices on the market.

Nordic Film+ is the name of Nordic Films' new streaming service, which actor Anders W. Berthelsen will highlight in a series of commercials soon. Here, users will have access to the largest selection of Danish films on the streaming market.

However, it's not just in quantity, but also quality that Nordic Film+ stands out. Nordic Film Distribution, which is behind the streaming service, controls 22 of the top-selling Danish films ever in the cinema and 85% of the top 100, which they will gradually make available on the service.

"As one of the world's oldest film companies, Nordic Film has been making films for Danes for over 115 years, and with our new streaming service, we want to bring that cozy film experience into homes. On Nordic Film+, you can watch or rewatch Danish films with all the actors you know, and the selection includes a wide array of the greatest films over time – from 'The Olsen Gang' to 'Checkered Ninja'," says Klaus Odegaard, who is responsible for Nordic Film+.

Films from the Nordics and Hollywood

In addition to the many Danish films, Nordic Film+ also includes a separate children's universe and films from both the Nordics and Hollywood. The editorial team, however, is based in Valby, where the film company was founded in 1906. They work to select and present the films on Nordic Film+ to Danes, in hopes of making the choice a little easier when sitting at home on the sofa. Every week, users can look forward to new films in various genres.

"Nordic Film+ is an affordably priced addition to Danes' other media consumption. We're not looking to knock any of the big streaming giants off the throne. Our focus is on creating a valuable streaming service for Danes with an emphasis on Danish films," says Klaus Odegaard.

A Solid Market for Danish Streaming

Nordic Film+ is now launched as an independent streaming service accessible to all Danes and also incorporates content from Danish Film Treasure (Dansk Filmskat) and Min Bio, which are also managed by Nordic Film.

"We’ve gained a lot of experience with streaming and conducted thorough analyses, which show that there's a very solid market for a streaming service with a main focus on Danish films. We look forward to inviting everyone to enjoy movies with Nordic Film+," says Klaus Odegaard.
