Egmont is a leading media group in the Nordic countries. We bring stories to life in, among other things, TV, film, games, books, and magazines, and at the same time we support children and young people at risk to pursue a good life. This is our dual purpose.

For more than 100 years, our social responsibility has been a driving force behind what we do at Egmont. It was the last will of our founder, Egmont Harald Petersen, that part of the company’s profits should be used for philanthropic purposes. And that is how it has been ever since. Every year, we spend around DKK 100 million of the profit from Egmont’s media business to support children and youth at risk in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. In this way, all our employees, customers and business partners help make an important difference for those who need it most.

Our ambition is for all young people to have the same opportunities to take an education, have an active voice in society, and create a good life. After many years of working with foundation support, we know that we can make the greatest difference by contributing more than just money. That is why we combine our financial support with several things: We support children and young people in being seen and heard, we create new knowledge through, for example, Egmont Insight, and we help set agendas that can push for lasting changes.

from across Egmont

We bring stories to life that matter to people and society. Through our support for children and young people, we help to enlighten, inspire, and push for change.

Absenteeism is solved together

Empty chairs have unfortunately become more common in classrooms across Denmark. High absenteeism can be a sign that children are struggling and need help.

For more youth and less illness

Young people living with an illness are at risk of their illness taking over their teenage years. The vision of Egmont’s new signature programme, SygtStærk, is that everyone should be able to complete upper secondary education and live a good teenage life despite illness.

All children deserve a good childhood

Through Egmont’s A Helping Hand programme, we collaborate with organisations that have a good knowledge of children, young people and families living in financial poverty. This will ensure that Egmont’s direct financial support goes to those most in need.
